My wife and I have stayed here two times in the last month. Both stays the room was clean. The heater/AC unit worked well. The shower was hot (note to readers: when I turned the shower on all the way to "hot" it was lukewarm. As I turned the shower water valve back just a little it heated up nicely). Breakfast was adequate with waffles, cereal, biscuits & gravy, bagels, yogurt, bananas, apples and orange juice. I would stay again without hesitation.
We were attending a Family Reunion in Keosauqua, Iowa about 20 miles away. We wanted to stay at the Super 8 because of the indoor pool for the grandkids. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the Walmart store, and a couple of miles from the bypass around the city of Fairfield, Iowa. The Staff was very friendly, and the desk clerk recognized me as a Wyndham Card Holder as I use it for all the reservations I make for our trips. The breakfast was one of the best for a Super 8, normally you just get a muffin, toast, and yogurt, maybe juice. The Super 8 in Fairfield, Iowa on Saturday had scrambled eggs, hot potatoes, bagels and cream cheese, various muffins, breads, etc. Plus they have a Belgium Waffle machine, but it is hard to get a Waffle as it was always busy the half hour we were there for breakfast. Sunday though they didn't have any hot food except the Waffle maker, they had hard boiled eggs, and yogurt for breakfast. We thought maybe they would have hot food each day. The hotel is very nice and we will stay there again, the quality of the cost and closeness to the activities are worth the money.
Our room was clean and the decor was up to date. Since my husband and I were from out of state, we asked the employee at the front desk where the best place to go for food nearby is and they gave us a variety of suggestions based on the type of food we wanted. She was very friendly! We got the one and only whirlpool room in the hotel and it was very nice! But watch out, the water can get very hot! When I went to dry my hair, the hairdryer in our room started smoking! However, the employee at the front desk took care of it right away. Eh, things happen! They had a decent breakfast available, but the waffles could have been better. We were also pretty close to downtown where we went to see a show and had dinner. In the end, it was well worth the amount we paid.
Ive been staying here annually for the Power Wagon rally since 2003. Always clean and a good price for a room. I dont care for the three mini pillows though and the water pressure at the sink was low in room 112. The aerator needs removed and cleaned since the shower pressure was fine.
I stayed here for a short while. I was continually impressed by the staff all-around. Very courteous and friendly housekeeping. Jay was the absolute BEST when it came to customer service and I cannot emphasize this enough. All while struggling with his computer system, he put the time and effort in to figure out whatever it was thru his computer so that he could still give the rate he promised or whatever it happened to be. I had a guest literally make water shoot out the back of the toilet ....Jay was so chill! Quick and efficient but not rude or unpleasant about the incident. The compassion he showed is enough I can confidently encourage anyone to stay here
This hotel is very clean and friendly. I highly recommend staying here. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I will be staying here again next year and recommending it to all my friends.
Our stay was amazing! Our kids loved the pool and everyone there was super kind and helpful when we booked a room for the family last second. Breakfast was awesome too!
It was clean, nice place to visit, and it gave my brother a place to sleep for the night to get him out of my house for what he wanted. I have two dogs that bark at night and they were keeping him up my brother that is and he wanted to get out and get away from the house for one night. What I saw of my brother's room was clean neat and very nice. If I need to I will use the super 8 for my own resort for getting away from my house. I would recommend the super 8 to anyone who wants to come and visit in town in this area to have a decent place to stay. The folks at the counter let my brother know about the breakfast in the morning and I thought that was very nice. Not too many motels, hotels have a complimentary breakfast in the morning.
